Days Of Learning

School of Stuff is a transformative one-week training designed specifically for vulnerable young adults. This summer, we’re excited to host a complimentary skill-building camp for 30 carefully selected participants, empowering them with valuable skills and knowledge to thrive.

WHY School of Stuff

Planting Seeds Of Growth

Let’s start with a little introduction.

The Do’More Initiative is a people-driven community development initiative that advocates, supports, and undertake projects that develop communities in collaboration with community members. We are dedicated to inspiring everyday people to take responsibility for building their communities and country they dream of.

In Nigeria, vulnerable youths face persistent barriers to education, economic participation, and personal development. Many adolescents, particularly those in orphanages or marginalized communities, lack access to opportunities that build the skills, confidence, and networks needed to thrive. The School of Stuff project emerges in response to these gaps by targeting vulnerable teenagers (ages 16–25) in Jos and surrounding communities, equipping them with life and livelihood skills to navigate adulthood and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

The overall goal School of Stuff is to empower 100 vulnerable youths (aged 16–25) with market-relevant technical and vocational skills by 2027, enabling them to secure income-generating opportunities and actively contribute to the socio-economic development of their communities.

Benefits

Why Apply?

Skill Empowerment

School of Stuff was designed to empower our learners with various practical courses like Mobile Photography, Music Production, Painting, Filming & Video Editing (Mobile/Computer), Crocheting and Catering and more with complementary general classes in AI in Business, Business Management, Storytelling, Content Creation and More.

These courses are designed to empower learnings with everything they need to change their lives in weeks, and months.

Post-Camp Mentorship

Learning is great but without the opportunity to apply acquired skills practically, they are soon forgotten.

That is why we have designed this critical component into the School of Stuff programme.

Post-camp learners are paired with various mentors across Jos to help them better hone their skills and accelerate their growth.

Community Empowerment

Our participants are not only equipped with key relevant skills and mentorship, they are empowered to bring about a transformation in their communities.

Our learners are trained on community engagement, leadership mindset and a mentality that makes them want to take action to make their communities better.
